At Refind Decor, patina doors become door hall stands, glass doorknobs become coat hooks and weather-beaten windows become elegant pin boards and chalkboards. Even the coffee tables are made of reclaimed wood. Local artisan, Jonica Bullock, says each item has a practical beauty and incorporates her personal taste and love for surroundings that are both visually attractive and organized.
"If I'm drawn to something, I know I can figure out how to make it work," Bullock says. |

I believe this article for SAIT Alumni Link Magazine was my absolute favourite to research and write. It outlines the accomplishments of a beloved Calgarian, Art Smith.
Often affectionately referred to as Mr. Calgary, Art Smith's life-long philanthropic activities led to his induction as the first Honorary Colonel for 4 Wing Cold Lake air force squadron. Although he was known as a local avionics legend, Smith's extensive charitable activities are perhaps what defined him best. When Art Smith passed away later the same year, I was inspired to write a tribute story about him for a journalism class assignment. Although this second article remains unpublished, it was an honor to write. Click on the images to read the full stories, or click on the PDF links above to download the files. |

In Lights, camera, action for film students, I take you with me as I visit the set of the film Back Issues on the final day of filming. Not only do I guide you through the premise of the script, but I go beyond the glamour to show you how making a film is really a lot of hard work. This article was written for The Weekly Albertan which is a newspaper produced by SAIT journalism students.

Set in 1964 at ADHD Advertising, the cast and crew of Dirty Laundry make up each week's episode on the fly, resulting in a hurts-so-good kind of chaos. In this article I give the low-down on what to expect and provide a review of the improvisational performance.
